Detailed Syllabus:

The course focuses on three areas of analysis: the individual, the group and the organization and considers these in terms of the ‘micro’ and ‘macro’ perspectives and their roots in behavioral and social sciences.

The unit starts with an analysis of management aspects of organization such as managerial hierarchy, managerial activities, organizational structure and organizational culture. Next, we analyze individual behavior in an organizational setting. This explores areas such as personality, individual differences, employee attitudes & motivation, group formation and group decision-making. The unit is completed by analyzing the ‘Macro’ or big-picture approach that addresses the whole organization as the primary area of analysis. Topics included are organizational leadership, conflict management and power influence in organization.
